Clifton High School guard Frank Tyler and back James Haywood were selected for the 1964 Super Cen-Tex Football Squad by the Waco Tribune-Herald. Haywood, a junior, scored 172 points this season, while Tyler is a senior. The all star group includes players from 18 CenTex schools and will be honored at a January banquet.

Mrs Ida Grimm, age 93, of Clifton, died December 30 in Clifton Hospital after a stroke on October 18. Funeral services were held Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev Frels Keitt and Rev Walter Gigeted officiating. Interment followed in Clifton Cemetery.

License Plates Go On Sale In Meridian February First
Bosque County Tax Assessor-Collector Karl Ho Behringer announced that 1964 license plates arrived in Meridian and will be on sale starting Monday February 1. Charlie A Schmidt of 714 S Avenue H Clifton died Saturday night January 2 in local hospital at age 60 9 He had run Charlie's Cafe in Clifton for 30 years after farming in Womack community Bosque County He was born March 14 1902 in Posen Germany and came to the United States at age 12 He and Ella Kettler married January 14 1923 and had two children Carl W Schmidt and Velma Lee Meyer The Schmidts moved to Clifton in 1975 and later operated Charlie's Cafe He was active with the Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home and helped plan a barbecue for the Sunset Home anniversary. he was respected as a cafe figure in Clifton

Palmer Samuel Jenson aged 79 years 3 months 19 days died about 5:00 am Monday January 4 at Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home. Born September 16 1885 at Norse Bosque County he farmed Gary Creek area until 1958. He married Frieda Schulze in 1914 and had seven children Forrest Murray Lloyd Arden Glenn Priscilla and another daughter. He moved to Clifton in 1958 then to Tyssen Hall in 1964. His son Glenn and daughter Priscilla died earlier.

Bosque County couple Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Gandy of Meridian marked their sixty years of marriage on Sunday December 27 at the home of their son Alton Gandy. They wed December 25 1904 at Holiness Church four miles west of Meridian. Charles served as Bosque County Clerk from 1923 to 1933 and later worked 22 years for the State Comptroller's Office retiring in 1960.
