Meridian Man Jesse Vick Dies After Illness
Jesse Carl Vick, 72, of Meridian, died Monday night December 27 at Clifton hospital after several months of illness. A retired Texas Highway Department worker with 30 years of service, he and Floy Lee Vick had lived in Meridian 35 years and were married 41 years. Survived by two sons Carl Vick of Meridian and Reverend Jack Vick of Belton. Funeral services were held December 29 at First Baptist Church Meridian, with burial in Meridian Cemetery.

Elmo Harvey Car Stolen Saturday Recovered in Fort Worth
Texas patrolman James Wright reported Elmo Harvey of Clifton had his 1962 Chevrolet stolen Saturday night and found Sunday night in Richland Hills Fort Worth. The car had damage on one side and golf clubs were missing. Officials still sought a 15 year old white youth from Gatesville State School who reportedly took the car after abandoning a pickup on Highway 219 near Olee Bakke place west of Clifton.

Clifton Chapter of the Future Farmers of America met to plan Rural Youth Day at the Southwestern Exposition and Fat Stock Show in Fort Worth. They will tour rubber, glass, and cement plants in Waco and sponsor a Junior Rodeo earlier this year. Miss Lena Emma Ott of Whitney died in a hospital there on Wednesday December 29 at age unknown. A German immigrant who came to the United States at age three, she lived in Whitney for 27 years. She leaves nephews and nieces in the Clifton area. Funeral services were held December 30 at the Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Hillsboro with Reverends Stanley Williams and John Kennedy officiating. Burial followed in Bethlehem Cemetery at Whitney.

Mr Tienarend Dies Suddenly In Clifton at 76
H L Tienarend 76 of Route 1 Clifton died Thursday after noon December 30 from a heart attack while changing a tire. He was born December 2 1889 in Toledo Ohio and lived in Lemoyne before serving in WWI. He worked in Texas oil fields for 35 years and later ranching near Clifton. Survived by wife Avie Livingston Tienarend two brothers and a sister. Funeral was January 2 at Clifton Funeral Home with graveside at Trinity Memorial Cemetery Big Spring.

Funeral services for Joseph Scott Clement Sr. 57 of Temple were held at 2:00 p m Tuesday January 4 at Harper Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple. He died Sunday morning January 2.
