Conrads Celebrate 50th Wedding Anniversary With Open House
The Conrad family held an open house December 22 at the Garnersville home northeast of Clifton to honor Mr and Mrs Lee Conrad on their 50th wedding anniversary. An earlier church service featured granddaughter duets of Jesus Still Touches Me. About 100 guests attended with out of town relatives from Dallas Valley Mills Seattle Milan Ohio and Dallas.

Dr Austin M Long prominent Valley Mills physician dies
Dr Austin M Long died in Dallas from a heart attack Sunday night December 29. He had practiced in Valley Mills for 31 years and headed a local medical clinic. He served on the State Board of Education and led the Valley Mills School Board while holding positions at First National Bank and in the Baptist Church. Survived by his wife Gale, two sons and a daughter and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held December 31 at First Baptist Church Valley Mills with graveside rites at Lampasas Cemetery.
