Bosque County Texas Independence Week Events
Bosque County hosts a series of events from Feb 28 to March 2 2011 in celebration of Texas Independence Week. Max Ratheal will speak on Comanche and U.S. Cavalry in 1874 at Walnut Springs Museum. Judge Ward and Dr Jeff Kerr discuss Texas history at the Courthouse and Bosque County Collection. A memorial service for Buck Barry is set at Barry Cemetery with Fort Hood Color Guard and DRT members. Valley Mills High School is involved.

During a lengthy Commissioners Court session on Monday February 14 Judge Cole Word opened the debate on a new county jail. J Marc Myers of Myers & Crow Company presented a proposal with architects and advisors outlining costs and design. The plan totals 7 891 695 with exceptions and may be placed on the May ballot.
