Weeping lovegrass growth and management notes
Weeping lovegrass from Ermelo South Africa, 1944, shows longer green periods under stress and quicker regrowth. It requires clean seedbeds, 2.5 pounds per acre, early fertilization, and nitrogen to phosphate ratio about four to one. Proper grazing height and winter durability support hay use and livestock forage, with Bosque Soil and Water Conservation District promoting guidance via the Soil Conservation Service. Glen Notman reports a 10 acre stand near Iredell in 1969 improving to a near perfect green stand by February 1970 with planned fertilization and year round management.
