Miss Lydia Lloyd longtime Clifton resident died suddenly at midnight Monday in Hico at her niece Anna Hatton Driskell’s home. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. E. Kirabner at the Clifton Baptist Church, with burial in Clifton. She had lived in Clifton for many years before moving with Driskell to Mex. Her passing ends a long life of community ties and friendships in the Clifton area.
Clifton High School boys basketball champions of Bosque County travel to Baylor Gym in Waco Friday to play Kerens, the Navarro and Navarro/Tonah County title winner, at 8 am. Kerens boasts a 14 game unblemished record while Clifton has 15 wins with two losses, including a Baylorn Cubs defeat. Cub supporters back Clifton to win. a victory would mark the first time in five years since the interscholastic league took charge of basketball.
