Poage Reflects on Congress and India Aid
Congressman Poage argues for compelled testimony to uncover records from groups like the Ku Klux Klan while warning against excessive use of self incrimination claims. He contrasts India famine with US aid, urging targeted food help and opposing blanket withdrawal. The note also covers a Dallas visit by Poage and family and a Mediterranean cruise plan.

Mesquite Clearing Methods and Costs Highlighted by ASCS Official
The article outlines root plows, root rakes, and other techniques for brush control and seedbed preparation. It notes that July and August offer best timing for piling or poisoning mesquite, with kerosene or diesel oil mixed with a chemical to treat bases. Grubbing and chaining are alternative methods, all requiring follow up on resprouts and reseeding, with about half the expense offset by ASCS.
