Atkinson Recalls Texas Revolution at Rotary Talk
Atkinson, longtime seventh and eighth grade history teacher, electrified Bosque County Clifton Rotary with an account of the Texas Revolution. He noted the six month conflict included the Goliad massacre and cited 800 deaths, while stressing America’s westward rise and later freedom. He described Spain’s harsh control from 1820, the land grants, and the brave colonists who fought for liberty.
