Funeral services for Maude Venita Schulze 66 of Meridian were conducted at the First Baptist Church Meridian with Rev. Gene Grace officiating. Interment followed at Clifton Memorial Park Clifton Texas. She was born January 24 1903 in Bartlesville Oklahoma married Alexander G Schulze May 14 1921 and died January 21 1970 after heart failure at Clifton Hospital. She is survived by five sons a daughter two brothers a sister eleven grandchildren and several relatives including Neal Schulze of Houston and D A Tessier of Abilene.

Five Texas youths earned 4-H national awards with scholarships of 6000 each during the National 4-H Congress in Chicago December 80 to December 4. Ann Powell Juanita Ellerson Diane Lavender Marylee Wittenburg and Benny Barton were honored in programs including Care and Training Home Improvement Horse Sheep and Swine with sponsors such as Ralston Purina Merck & Co Wilson & Co and Moor Man Mfg Co. The awards were presented at breakfast and dinner events with more than 2500 delegates attending under the theme Make Tomorrow Happen.

Mrs. W A iBessie Davis Alexander 84 of Midland Texas died January 26 in Sonora Hospital. Burial was in Meldorado Cemetery. She was daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Davis and sister of Sam W Davis and Mrs John H Neel. Born November 28 1885 in Thompsonville Illinois she came to Clifton in 1899. Survived by husband four sons 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was active in the Baptist Church and the D A R.
