Methodist Teens Invited to Friday Night Youth Center

The Clifton Methodist Church sponsors a Youth Center offering Friday night activities from 8 to midnight in the Fellowship Hall. Lake Whitney Beauty Pageant Triples Effort for 18th Year

The 18th Lake Whitney Beauty Pageant is rescheduled to May 8 and 9 1970 to avoid conflict with the Democratic Primary. About 100 entrants are expected split into two or three divisions with possible a third night. Bosque County Registers 5405 Voters in 1968 Update

Bosque County reports 5405 registered voters unofficially as of late January, short of the 5422 record set during the 1968 presidential election. County Tax Assessor Earl Behringer cites late-registration slippage and possible duplications as reasons, with a detailed precinct breakdown to follow when compiled. The state party provided no comparative data on Operation Everybody by press time.

70 License Tags Now Being Sold

New license plates went on sale at the county tax office Monday with motorists given until April 1 to register their 1970 vehicles. The Texas Highway Department and County Tax Assessor Collector Karl Behringer say the three part form system reduces registration frustration, after applications were mailed to vehicle owners in January.

J. P. Atkinson Seriously Hurt In Wreck Friday

J. P. Atkinson of Clifton was seriously injured Friday evening when two cars collided at State Highway 6 and the China Spring road north of Waco. He received emergency treatment at Goodall-Witcher Hospital then was transferred to Hillcrest Hospital for surgery. Doctors described a freak injury to a major artery requiring repair and removal of his spleen.
