Lane named Clifton Chamber of Commerce president

Civic Will Visit Classes For Tots At Local Church

Clifton Civic Improvement Society will meet at 3 p.m. February 7 in the First United Methodist Educational Building. Members will tour the church kindergarten classes taught by Mrs. Flanagan Liardon and Shepard and view the enlarged sanctuary. Enrollment includes 24 five year olds and 12 three year olds. refreshments will follow.

Red Cross Bloodmobile to Visit Clifton on Friday

The American National Red Cross Bloodmobile will visit Clifton at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday February 9 to boost blood supplies. Hospital officials cite scarce rare blood types and plan one-for-one replacements for donors. The event aims for 100 donors per visit with a 73 pint Clifton quota, volunteers are being recruited for nursing and clerical duties.

Minor Car Collision on West 9th Street Reported

Two cars were involved in a minor accident on West 9th Street Friday afternoon. Each vehicle sustained slight damage according to Chief of Police Homer Waller. No injuries were reported.

Clifton City and School Elections Set for April 7

Clifton voters will cast ballots in mayoral and alderman contests plus a Clifton Independent School District trustee election on April 7. Mayor and several aldermen terms expire. filings open at City Office and district office with deadlines on March 7. Absentee ballots may be cast. in person voting runs 8 am to 7 pm. Register to vote by 30 days before April 7.

Mrs Hastings reports district raise at Austin Tuberculosis meeting

Mrs Albert Hastings of Craw fills Gap attended the Central Texas Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases Association board meeting at the Villa Capri Motor Hotel in Austin. She announced Bosque County gained $296 more than last year from the Christmas Seal Campaign and the 25 county district showed an increase of over $14 000.

Dates Set For Centex Fair And Rodeo In Clifton

The Central Texas Fair Association meets to outline plans for the 1973 Central Texas Fair and 28th annual rodeo to be held August 30 to September 1 at Clifton grounds. A new general superintendent is to be named, with McDougal and Seljos assisting. A pet show, junior rodeo, and Quarter Horse Show are scheduled. ad copy and premium catalogs are planned for March and May.
