Miss Ruth Moore Marries Mr Conn In Home Ceremony

Miss Ruth Aleen Moore of Austin and George Sherman Conn of Kokomo Indiana wed at the Moore home on West Fifth Street. The ceremony, led by Rev. Walter T. Gigstad, featured palms and gladioli decor. Bride wore ivory silk over taffeta with a veil and carried a white Bible with an orchid. Best man was Carl C. Kipp Jr. and matron of honor was Mrs. Kipp. A reception followed. the couple will reside in New York.

Genecov Awarded 2250 for Right of Way Damages

A special commission awarded Genecov and others 2250 for six acres of land and severance damages related to a Clifton Meridian Farm to Market Road 1991 project along the Bosque River. The Clifton court-named commissioners presided over the settlement after failed negotiations with the landowners and Commissioner Jesse White.

Former Clifton Man Dies In Plane Crash

Captain Shirley Byron Tubbs aged 30 of Mesquite died in an F-84 jet crash in the Azores during a training flight en route to Europe. He had lived in Clifton where his father B. M. Tubbs operated a gun shop. Survived by wife, one child, mother, and several siblings. two sisters in Clifton were Mrs. Joe Tennison and Mrs. Robert Hurst. The other plane’s pilot escaped injury. The four jets departed England Air Force Base at Alexandria, Louisiana, for Europe under the Tactical Air Command rotation.

Mrs. Addie Esther Reeder Fort known as Mrs W B Fort of Clifton and Bosque County dies at home on December 28 after a prolonged illness. Born April 29 1890 at Fort McKavett she married William Benjamin Fort January 5 1913 and the couple raised six daughters in the Boggy community. Funeral services were held December 29 at First Methodist Church Clifton with interment at Boggy Cemetery.

Golden Wedding Anniversary Celebrated by Otto Schramm

Otto and Emma Schramm marked 50 years of marriage with an open house Monday December 26 from 2 to 5 pm at the Clifton area home four miles north of Clifton. Family and friends, including daughters Viola and Mrs. Ennis Whatley, sons Herbert and Walter, and grandchildren Kay, Karen Sue, and Marilyn, attended. The event featured a white linen table, gold decor, and a wedding cake with gladioli. The couple, married December 14, 1905 in Greenville, Texas, have long farmed in Bosque County near Clifton. Out of town guests from Houston, Malone, Kermit, Waco, Hamilton, Guyman, Olney, Texhoma, Lexington, Fort Worth, Brenham, Crawfordsville, Meridian, Denver City and more attended.

Death of Mrs Elise Krollage 89 at McGregor

Friends in Clifton and McGregor learned of the December 21 death of Mrs Elise Krollage 89 of Route 2 Clifton after a long illness. Born in Hanover Germany she came to the United States in 1883 and lived in Robinson before moving to McGregor in 1900 and later to the Highland community. Survived by three sons Eddie Rudolph Henry two daughters Alma Louise Rosa 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Markets Report From Clifton Auction Prices

Prices quoted Thursday morning show poultry eggs and cream per pound, grain values for milling and feed wheat oats maize barley and yellow corn, with Clifton buyers noting about 400 cattle offered Wednesday. Slaughter steers and yearlings bring 16 to 20.20, calves 16 to 20.40, cows 10 to 11.90, bulls 11 to 13.50 and hogs top at 11.75 in a strong, active market.
