Wintry Weather Grips Mosheim Residents Over Weekend

Snow began Sunday and fell most of the day in Mosheim as residents noted holiday travel and gatherings. A fire slight damage to the Narmour home preceded the death of Travis Simmons aged 22, with funeral rites led by Rev. Bernie Hayter at Valley Mills cemetery.

Agnes Eckert and Luella Johnson report a December home economics luncheon hosted by teachers and trustees with three tables led by Haldine Landgraf Eckert and Phyllis Prescher. A play titled An Old Fashioned Mother was shown by the Norse community Young People’s Society. The school’s basketball teams traveled to Valley Mills with the boys winning 16 to 8 and the girls losing 43 to 10. The Christmas program is set for Tuesday December 23 before holidays. Miss Emily York visited the school Friday.

Bosque County Preparations For Fat Stock Show Hoping For Carload Baby Beeves

Bosque County prepares for the Fort Worth Fat Stock Show with record feed, better quality livestock, and a carload of baby beeves in the club boy class. Charley Miles of Mosheim heads the 4 H effort feeding 30 Hereford calves. The move allows club entrants to combine calves for a county carrot while competing in open classes and dressing percentage contests. Local breeders plan carloads of hogs and fat lambs, with Bosque County Day sought for the exposition.
