Norfolk Virginia Pilot announces the engagement of Judith Antoinette Dalton to Lawrence Gerald Nelson. Judith is the daughter of Mr and Mrs John Preston Dalton of Holland and Lawrence is the son of Mr and Mrs O D Nelson of Clifton Texas. The wedding is planned for the latter part of the month.
The Clifton Future Farmers of America team placed third at the Texas poultry judging contest in Waco on December 17. Members Dahl Darrell Ludwick and BJ Carpenter, with Milton Dahl as coach, exhibited multiple prize birds including White Leghorns and Barred Rocks.
Oslo borne historian Gare tian L Lange age 69 dies Sunday. He helped formulate disarmament policy and represented Norway at League of Nations conferences. Lange served as secretary of the Nobel committee 1900 to 1908 and led the Inter Parliamentary Union 1909 to 1928.
Hillsboro Texas December 18 a fire destroyed the cottonseed house and damaged the building with 30000 in love and 70000 in cotton seed. Smoke rose for miles as Hillsboro volunteers and company workers fought the blaze for more than three hours. The loss and cause remain under investigation by manager S J Vaughan.
