11 000 Xmas Turkeys Shipped from Clifton
More than 11 000 turkeys were shipped from Clifton during December 6 to 16 for Christmas. About 145 000 pounds of meat were produced with 115 175 pounds dressed in Clifton and 114 000 pounds sent in freight cars. County Agent Receives News On Options Cows
The Federal Relief Agency funds cutter cows for Bosque County with 110 head allotted. Forty were sent to Waco on December 19 and forty more will be delivered later this month. Cattle must be healthy and well flesh to qualify. Price is $1.75 per hundred, no commissions. Owners need permits from the County Agent. Farm administration also announces six cents a pound cotton options for about 2,400,000 bales, distributing an estimated $48 million to around 600,000 farmers. Options can be exercised for market price difference or pooled to receive four cents per pound or $20 per bale. a cotton option office will handle disbursements and audits.

Grandma Wallace 93 Dies in Bosque County
Mrs Martha Ann Casey Wallace a longtime Norse resident and Bosque County pioneer died at her son Georges home on December 14 at age 93. Born in 1840 in Mississippi she moved to Texas as a child, lived most of her life in Norse and raised twelve children with eight surviving. Funeral services were held at home with ministers E N Scarlett and P E Thorson and she was buried in Boggy Cemetery.
