Notable obituary and war-time relief efforts mix in local notices
A lengthy obituary recalls a woman of church service and community ties, followed by reports on Rev. Sovik and his China-born family aiding refugees. Details include service in Hico Baptist church, among prominent attendees, and Chaplain Sovik’s Marine Corps chaplain duties in the Pacific theater and his family's wider humanitarian work in wartime China.
