Warden Reports Good Quail Kill and Deer Season Outlook
The warden notes a strong quail season west of hunters with pockets of dry spells reducing hatch survival. Deer season shows a potential record kill in Bosque County around 700 with 30 percent does. Hamilton counts about 30 bucks only with no doe permits. A 135 pound 16 point buck near Clifton and Cranfill Gap tops Bosque County so far, while a 138 pound Hamilton buck weighed more but had eight points.
