County 18 Year To Register Dec. At Aquila Abbott Port Offices. Malone Cape Wilbert HL Cale, Byard, Hillloburn, and other officials prepare 200 youths for registration. The article notes changes creating new programs in education and youth sports amid wartime emphasis.
Harry C Wollam died after a lingering illness in Crufills Gap. Funeral services were held December 4 at 300 pm at his home and 4:00 pm at St Olaf Lutheran Church with Rev Benjam B Miakeslad officiating. Interment followed at St Olaf Cemetery. He was survived by wife Agnes Hartelaon and many relatives including Wollum family members in Fort Worth Los Angeles Wichita Falls and Crufills Gap.
The Bosque County region reports several men enlisted or inducted into the armed forces in recent weeks. Names include Herman L. Young Chris M. Peul Alford Conaway James D. Rogers Elbert A. Linch Jimmie L. Ramage Frankie W. Tenninon and others.
At a Lions Club gathering the local ElsD and Donald Del Buono W. Molo led a program praising Red Cross work. Ralph W. Helm spoke on the annual budget, noting war conditions raise county allotments and that individual and firm contributions may rise to about 5 910.00.

A WWI veteran offering to sponsor several subscriptions for local boys in service who cannot receive The Record. The donor asks that his name remain confidential and requests names from friends or relatives of those in service who lack access to the paper.
Retired workers under the old age and survivors insurance program do not gain credit for wages from employment covered by the law when they return to work. If monthly earnings reach 10 dollars for a single month, no check is issued that month. Once a worker’s claim is allowed, the monthly benefit rises only for the balance of the period, not due to later employment.
The Bosque National Farm Loan Association marked its 10000th loan closing in Grayson County near Sherman Texas. Secretary-Treasurer Edwin P. Grimes cited steady progress over 25 years with long term low interest loans aiding farmers and ranchmen. He noted 58 Land Bank loans and 223 Land Bank Commissioner loans totaling 1.8314 million dollars with 260,500 already retired.
Dyess Feed and Hatchery expands rapidly, becoming one of Clifton’s largest and most attractive business institutions. The growth signals rising employment and economic impact for the local community.

Dr Mathews registrar Texas State University sent a letter of appreciation and congratulations to Clifton Junior College after listing the graduates averages for 41 42. Clifton earned the second highest average among the colleges on the list. The note praised the college for its academic performance and progress.
The 1943 AAA program allows substitution of designated feed crops for cotton to meet the 90 percent war crop goal. Acreage of crops such as corn, sorghum, oats, tame hay, and vegetables may be substituted on a one for one basis, including excess acreage beyond 1 percent of county acreage. Dark E. Clifton High School observed Pearl Harbor day by buying bonds totaling 311.30. Students and faculty formed committees to publicize the drive and many pupils earned honorable mention for individual purchases ranging from 12.75 to 67.50 with grades and names listed among participants.
