Ten baby beef turkeys hens from the Meridian Poultry firm were bought through County Agent E R Lawrence after the Turkey Behea event in Bosque County on October 1 1918. The flock was placed on Melvin Gann’s Meridian farm. Lawrence praises the bronze type with unique body structure and short legs, plans incubation and housing, aiming to breed a large flock for sale next year. Mrs. G. J. Gibbs Passes Away In Vernon On Thanksgiving Day
Mrs. Macy Ellen Gibbs died Thanksgiving morning November 24 at her daughter’s Vernon Texas home after years of illness. Born January 10 1800s in Clifton she lived in Clifton before moving to Vernon in 1907 and later Wichita Falls. Surviving children include Oran L. Gibbs Travis Gibbs and Mrs Frank B Murchison. Interment followed services at Clifton’s First Presbyterian Church with many friends in attendance.

Landmark Residence Near Clifton Destroyed By Fire
An old Radwig estate residence east of Bouque River near Clifton burned last Sunday morning. The house, occupied by Mr and Mrs Kleibrink and a baby, was damaged when a heating stove sparked a blaze. Mr Kleibrink was away. Mrs Kleibrink and the baby were saved with some household effects. Oswald estimates over a thousand dollars to rebuild as the dry structure burned quickly and no valuables were saved.
