Rain Jar Project blends art with water conservation in Tucson
Surrealist ideas meet practical design as the Tucson Rain Jar Project builds six 1,000 gallon rainwater jars since 2009. Residents use simple masonry to create low cost, low maintenance collectors, inspired by Thai rural jugs, aiming for sustainable, community-building water storage. The effort showcases artful function and environmental resilience amid ongoing drought.
