Mrs. M. E. Larson 78 of Meridian died at home on Monday November 27 from a heart attack. She was born Petra Methilda Wold at Cranfills Gap and married M. E. Larson in 1900. Survived by sons Hans in Longview Marvin in Fort Benning Pernell in Clifton. daughters S. N. Jorgensen Marshall Allen Lee Erickson Wendell Davis Wilma Hayes. siblings Gus Wald Helga Hoff. 19 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held November 30 at Bristel Funeral Home Meridian and St Olaf Lutheran Church Cranfills Gap with Rev Iver Haugen. interment St Olaf Rock Cemetery.

Clifton Lions Club members enjoyed a noon luncheon on Tuesday November 28 as Reverend W F Rolf presented colored slides from his Holy Lands trip with descriptive narration. The club scheduled one December meeting on the 12 and tasked the Health and Welfare Committee to prepare Christmas baskets with pastors delivering them. Lion O E Pierson outlined air travel plans to the International Lions Convention in Nice France this summer. City patrolman George Robinson attended as a guest as Lions praised the dinner by Emanuel Lutheran Church ladies.
