The Farmers Home Administration approved a $211000 direct loan to the City of Morgan in Bosque County to build a rural water and sewer system. The 40 year loan bears 5 percent interest and funds central water and waste facilities for the northern Bosque County community. Ferrell L. Brewer serves as Morgan mayor. Since January 1961 the FH A has approved loans and grants totaling $140,534,750 for 972 Texas rural water and sewer projects.
A singing will be held at Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. Everyone interested is invited to attend.
Trea Crocker is introduced as the new golf pro and manager of the Bosque Valley Recreation Club between Clifton and Meridian. A work day Friday at 3 p.m. will finish the 9 hole course. Preview opening to members Saturday and Sunday August 14 15 with prizes for feats.

Three charges were filed against James Curtis Watley 31 of Clifton for driving while intoxicated fleeing from a police officer and assault on a police officer. Delores Fields his half sister faced a misdemeanor charge of interfering with a lawful arrest. Texas Highway Patrolman Gerald Baker described the pursuit and arrest in detail.
The C. H. S. Band will begin summer practice at 7 30 am Monday August 16. All band students in grades 8 through 12 are asked to be at the band hall at this time and date announced this week by Director Mel Cowan.
The Clifton City Council votes to submit a bond issue up to 200000 to voters to fund a new city hall and community center. Plans include adding to Clifton Airport area facilities and annexing the new school project, with mayor stating taxes won’t rise if approved and the project financed by general obligation bonds.
