Charles B McCoy a Spanish American War veteran was buried with military honors at Clifton cemetery after funeral services at Clifton Baptist Church. He served in the U S Army four years eight months and lived in Meridian Knoxville and Stroutman with a wife Hiya and three children. He died at a Veterans hospital in Waco Texas on August 5 1986 and was discharged from Fort Bayard New Mexico May 9 1908.
