Garrett B Hill Dies Here After Stroke July 30
Garrett B Hill age 77 of Clifton died July 30 at Goodall and Witcher Clinic Hospital after a stroke the night before. He was born July 10 1884 in Gholson McLennan County and married Addie Phillips in 1910. He leaves wife Addie son George Hill daughters Norma and Kathleen, siblings, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral was August 1 at Clifton Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Clifton Memorial Park.

Clifton regional junior track team finished third in the state finals for 14 and 15 year old boys at Victoria. Abilene won with 66 points, Victoria 58, Clifton 56, led by wins in broad jump and a tie for high jump, plus top finishes in 100 yard dash and relays. Mrs. Ophelia Amundson recalls rides in a Hercules Buggy once bought around 1910 from P. E. Schow and Bros. Clifton. D. A. Golden now uses the buggy for trips from Norse to Clifton and back, often on Mondays, sometimes with a surrey when more passengers ride.
