WPA Garden to Supply School Lunches in Clifton Area

Ten acres of land near Clifton on the Bosque River will form a WPA Zone Garden linked to the Terrell Estate for the Fehnol Honeh project. It will serve about 760 students in Clifton Cooper Turley Creek Smith Tend Norne and Worrack and will aid Coan Creek Center Hill. A food preservation center will operate in Clifton with 16250 cans canned in summer. WPA will fund labor and supplies for canning and garden work with local schools providing seed plants equipment and transportation. An additional unit near Walnut Springs serves schools in the marsh end of the county with similar staffing and production.

Albertson Rites Held In Clifton Texas

Albert Albertson, born October 2, 1865 in Prairieville Kaufman County Texas, died after a brief illness. He lived in Clifton since 1915 with his sister Mrs Kestle Roddy and leaves four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church Clifton with interment in Clifton Cemetery. Active pallbearers included Sanders Aanenson Oris Pierson Hans Dahl Jim O'Shea Otto Stanhiver and Robert Gloff. Out of town kin attended from Maybank Kemp Corsicana Waco and Meidisa.
