Market Specials Extend Through Lent In Texas Stores
Mrs Gwendolyne Clyatt of the Texas Agricultural Extension Service notes specials on cheese and certain fish products will continue through Lent. Egg prices may rise due to rising demand, then resume usual specials. Beef counters show several cuts on sale including duck roasts, steaks, and liver. Lamb supplies rise but specials unlikely. Fresh fruits and vegetables remain economical with grapefruit oranges apples pineapple bananas grapes carrots cabbage broccoli turnips rutabagas collards mustard greens spinach. Pure food dye is advised for coloring Easter eggs.
