Cranfills Gap voters approved incorporation by 84 to 26. In school races Mary Nell Witte won 89 votes and C H Gustafson Jr. 79. James E Boren named Clifton Chamber of Commerce president. banquet set at Clifton Civic Center with leaders outlining program and tickets limited to pre sale sales.

Holy Week noon services set for Clifton April 12 16

Community Holy Week noon services will be held Monday through Friday, April 12 to 16, at the Lone Star Gas building in downtown Clifton. Each day at 12:30 pm a 20 minute service will reflect Isa 53 3 with readings on Judas Peter the crowd soldiers and religious leaders. Clergy from Clifton area churches lead prayers hymns and scripture as two pastors preach each day. Public invited by Clifton Ministers Alliance.

Clifton voters abandon city manager plan in special election

Clifton voters reject the city manager form by 417 to 226 in a special election returning the city to a mayor council government. The petition supporting the change had 156 signatures, 124 qualified as voters. Re-elected aldermen and write-ins counted, with mayor and school board races also noted.

FHA HERO Week Marked in Clifton Texas

The movement counts over 75 000 members in 2160 chapters in Texas aligning with America’s Bicentennial. Lightning claims Clifton boy in Rogers tragedy

Clifton man's 14 year old son Bobby Terrell died after a lightning strike during a thunderstorm in Rogers. Funeral held in Rogers with burial in Clifton. Survivors include his parents Jerry Terrell and Debbie and Alicia Gribble sisters, brother, and grandparents Bill Billings, Mrs. George Rhea, and Mrs. Beulah Terrell. Minor vehicle crash in Clifton parking lot injures none

A 1963 pickup remained undamaged and a 1973 two door hardtop sustained minor damage after a Saturday morning accident at Clifton parking lot at 9 30 a.m. No injuries were reported.

Cub Relays to Feature Distance Medley and Close Competition

Central and North Central Texas boys track squads compete Saturday in the 1976 Cub Relays. The program runs field events at noon, trials at 1 p.m., and finals at 6 p.m. with 24 teams including Moody Joshua Keller and Clifton Cubs.
