Clifton High School's Cub track team won four of five events at the Valley Mills Relays on April 3 in Valley Mills. The squad scored 4 points, took the sprint and mile relays, and saw Gary Pete Fredenburg lead in individual honors. Mrs. Hornbuckle Dies in Louisiana at 81
Mrs. John M Hornbuckle aged 81 died Sunday afternoon April 4 in Lafayette Louisiana after a heart condition. The Clifton resident had moved in 1964 with husband to stay with their son and daughter in law Robert and family in Lafayette. They formerly lived at 407 North Avenue N Clifton for about 14 or 15 years. Surviving besides her husband are two sons Robert Q of Lafayette and Marion of Albany along with eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 3 o clock with burial in Morgan area records.

Former Coon Creek Resident Cecil Duncan Dies at 47
Cecil R. Duncan 47 of 15392 Salisbury Lane Huntington Beach California died there on Tuesday March 23. Born in Oklahoma he spent most of his life there and moved to California five years ago. Survived by his wife, son Randy, daughter Mrs. Jerry Robinson, one grandson John, two brothers Floyd and Russell, two sisters Mrs Roy Dryden and Mrs Bill Weatherford. Funeral with Masonic rites was held Saturday March 27 in Alex Oklahoma and burial followed in Chickasha Oklahoma.

Local Folks Visit With Alvin Spitzer In Galveston

He is hospitalized at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston after transfers from Hillsboro and Clifton hospitals. Jorgenson Loses Finger in Clifton Mill Accident
Simon Jorgenson of Texas Milling Company Clifton injured his right hand when it was caught in a pellet machine last Friday. His mangled middle finger was amputated at the knuckle and a second finger on the same hand was damaged but expected to recover. He said the injury occurred while clearing a choke, and the machine blade operated.

Mrs Christianson Wins Fort Worth Press Bread Contest
Mrs Alfred Christianson of Harmony Route 1 Meridian earned first place for her whole wheat bread in the Fort Worth Press spring foods contest. Foods editor Carole Coffey tried to reach her by phone before her win was confirmed. She learned of the victory March 28 from her daughter. A $25 prize check followed midweek.
