Harrison notices report the United Brethren Church led by Rev P E Grummond inviting all to hear the full gospel amid changes to tradition. The Helping Hand Society plans to redecorate the back apartments for the pastor and his wife, Rev and Mrs Paul Drummond of Ithaca, with a special September 9 cleaning event. Local residents and visitors are listed in a roundup of social calls, visits, and errands across Harrison and surrounding towns.
The second annual flower show at the Congregational church featured about seventy displays of Bouquets from Harrison area gardens and a table of antiques. A local girl scout troop presented nature essays and bouquets and won first place ribbons. Judges included Mrs. Miles Callaghan Reed City Mrs. John R. Brown and Rev. Dr. W Johnstone. The event opened with a club meeting and lantern slides on landscape gardening.
The United Brothers Sunday School elected officers led by Superintendent Bernard Fischer with Secretary Miss Delores Dyke and Treasurer Mrs. Roy Haton. Class teachers include Mrs. Clara Smith Kindergarten Mrs. Nettie Chase Junior boys Mrs. Paul Drummond High School class Bernard Fischer Bible class Mrs. Olive Hallet and daughter and husband Mr and Mrs Howard Stimp son visited Cadillac this week.
