Michigan considers liberalizing 1967 fishing rules
The Michigan Conservation Commission in Lansing Sept 8 9 will review proposals to relax the March 14 May 14 closed season on northern pike in inland waters to allow pike fishing in trout waters from the last Saturday in April through the second Sunday in September. Other changes seek a year round spearing ban lift on Lake George Clare County and end February January spearing restrictions in several lakes across multiple counties.

4 H Camp at Coldwater Lake Offers Youth Programs
The Coldwater Lake 4 H Camp provides conservation education swimming leadership development outdoor crafts riflery archery and citizenship training for area youths. George F Jennings notes the program shapes responsible citizens. Facilities are shared by Bay and Isabella County 4 H Councils including a lodge dining hall two dorms and a caretaker's home. The Isabella County 4 H Council owes 2000 on the caretaker's home mortgage, reduced from 6000 previously owed.
