Attendance declines mark Michigan state parks season
A drop from 1949 peak attendance is seen in seven top parks as cold weather reduces use. Officials note picnickers shift to smaller parks and daily visitors rise at Muskegon State Park to 408 775 and Warren Dunes to 145 370 with 102 840 last year for comparison. Upper Peninsula parks also report lower attendance despite upcoming holidays.
