Mr and Mrs I B Hampton returned Tuesday from a month long visit with their son Frank in Aurora Colorado. They traveled by train via the Santa Fe route and back via the Northwestern line. The trip featured fine weather with one shower and a 80 degree high last Sunday. They observed irrigation driven farming north of Denver with sugar beets wheat and alfalfa crops thriving. Beets reached 30 tons per acre and nearby wheat averaged 50 bushels. The Hamptons toured Mt Evans at 14 000 feet and spoke of land suitable for farming. They logged over two thousand miles in Frank’s car and noted the mountain roads as fine gravel.
