Wood Well No. 2 Brings In 2000 Barrels At Vernon Field
Vernon oil field three miles south of Clare reports Woods No. 2 produced 2000 barrels on Monday with a 1200 barrel run since. Early Monday the Dundee interval yielded 2500 feet to the casing, gas interruption occurred but was remedied and flow started at eighty five barrels per hour. Derrick steel and timber were moved for Jos. Crowley farm No. 2 west of center. two derricks arrived at Burnham crossing for Brief No. 2 and another undetermined disposition awaits report.

Aeronautic Field To Be Established Near County Seat
Major Evans of Detroit visited Harrison and purchased a forty acre tract belonging to the late Dr. Langin, two and a half miles north of town on U S 27. The land will be developed into an airport with immediate improvements budgeted at twelve hundred dollars. The existing building will be removed. This adds to a slate of aeronautic fields being created across the state.

Former Loomis Lady Buried Here Saturday
A funeral for Mrs. Eirza Presley of Mt Pleasant was held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in Friz parlors conducted by Rev. J. H. Lockyer. She died Thursday October 8 at about 75 years old and spent much of her life in Loomis Michigan as a schoolteacher. Interment followed at Cherry Grove cemetery.

The Mason Jubilee Singers opened the High School Lyceum Course with a well attended Thursday morning auditorium appearance. Schroeder Barn Destroyed by Midnight Fire
Thos M Schroeder on Vernon Hill lost a 40 by 60 foot barn with underground basement containing oats hay straw and farm equipment. The blaze at 12 30 a m destroyed crops and claimed one cow and three heifers with an estimated loss near eight thousand dollars not fully insured. Firefighters used a new pumper after laying one thousand feet of hose to combat the fire.
