Grant Township Opposes Washington Road Closure Over Airport Expansion
Grant Township Supervisor Paul Nass says the proposed Clare City Airport expansion, which would close part of Washington Road, would hurt residents east of town. The Grant Township Board passed a Sept 14 resolution opposing the road closure, citing 75 percent of the cost share and the impact on local access. Nass questions timing and says the township will protect its residents. Clare Mayor William Ulrich calls the resolution premature and notes the master plan is not yet final.
