Deer hunting slow as warm spell breaks
The past week saw deer hunting hampered by mild weather with forty deer killed by Sunday night, far below pre season forecasts. A cold spell may boost the hunt this week as Detroit visitors and local residents, including Lawrence Smith and several families, spent weekends at cottages around Lake George and Shingle Lake amid oil speculation nearby.
