Dairymen Learn to Boost Profits by Feeding Right Cows
Michigan State University research shows lower producing herds can gain profits by feeding grain according to each cow’s production. A study found 140 herds added over 2000 pounds yearly and $100 more per cow with $25 more feed, while high earners must avoid overfeeding poorer cows. County agents urge joining the Dairy Herd Improvement Association to track milk records and optimize feeding.
