The Clare County Road Commission held a regular session in Harrison at the courthouse on October 18 1949 with Chairman Manuel Sutton and members Sutton Diment and Harrold present. The board moved to advertise for bids on four five ton White trucks and four Mack model 1941 HHX trucks. adjournment followed.
The Clare City Commission convened October 17 1949 with Mayor pro tem Haley presiding. Actions included granting a twenty four hour food permit at 409 McEwan street and approving building permits for L Gibbs and Leon E Dull. The board offered Clare County Road Commission 800 for an Allis Chalmers power grader and approved various bills. A special meeting October 26 1949 adopted a mourning resolution for late Mayor John W Trlop and planned a wreath and memorial transmission to state officials and the Michigan Municipal League.
Probate Court orders time limits for filing claims against estates of John W. Dunlop Fred S Goodman and Philip F Gaeeck. Creditors must present claims by designated dates at 10:00 AM at the Clare Probate Office with publication in the Clare Sentinel for three successive weeks.
The Probate Court of Clare County on November 10 1949 granted petition by John H Hall for administration of Pearl M Hall estate to William Baslick or other suitable person. Hearing set for December 19 1949 at ten o’clock in the forenoon at the Probate Office. Notice to be published weekly for three weeks in the Clare Sentinel.
Mr and Mrs Herman Kruger were Sunday visitors at Fred Treitch home. Mr and Mrs Kenneth MacDonald of Lansing visited Floyd Garver. Paul Bowser celebrated his birthday with Jim and Carl Treitch. Mrs Albert Shaver stayed with her son Vernell in Jackson. Forest Garver visited Rev Henderich at Eagle. Carol and Joyce Kleinhardt spent the weekend with Nellie Walters. The Kleinhardts and Roy Sweet attended Nazarene Church in Mount Pleasant Thursday evening. Mrs Robert Kleinhardt and Jackie spent Thursday in Beaverton with her mother Verne Mercer. The Kleinhardt families traveled to Ann Arbor to see Rev Chas Rlieinhardt under observation at University Hospital.
