Michigan Highway Commissioner and State Police chief announce a plan to ferry deer hunters across the Straits from Mackinaw City. Cars from US-31 and US-27 form half hour arrival lines, with coordinated loading to ensure all vehicles in a given half hour travel together. The system uses time-stamped stickers and two parallel lines to prevent bias, with staffing to maintain order as in prior years.
