County budget shows higher valuations amid lake drainage plan
County supervisors report increases in valuations for Clare, Harrison and most townships in the 1966 apportionment. Winterfield, Arthur, Freeman Frost, Hatton, Redding and Summerfield townships show declines. A water level issue at Long Lake near Harrison leads Frost supervisor Howard Carey to seek a Drain Commission district to tax for dredging and to control a dam outlet to manage spring runoff.
