White Sweet Clover as a Plow-Under Cover Crop
White sweet clover is a good variety to use for plowing under and yields ranker growth. It may be sown any time until mid summer. earlier sowing increases fall growth. Being biennial it needs two years to reach full vigor and seed production, so the heaviest growth occurs in the early part of the second season. The best time to plow it down is when plants stand eight to twenty inches high.

Bees in Demand Drive Pollination Push in New York
Dr B F Phillips of Cornell says honey profits lure people to keep bees and pollination is essential for fruit growers. Last year 600 bee colonies were imported to Niagara county alone to aid fruit crops and farmers rent colonies elsewhere. Bees yield a $2,000,000 honey crop and pollinate more than one third of New York apple production.
