New Details Announced For Feed Grain Program
The state ASC committee outlines changes to the 1961 Feed Grains Program to reward farmers who reduce acreage with bushel certificate payments. Certificates may be redeemed in kind for CCC corn or cash, with redemption at market prices and storage loan considerations. Farmers can use certificates to hedge against market price versus support rate, saving storage and hauling costs. Eligible farmers must place corn under CCC loan to receive price supports, with storage charges on certificates if advanced payments are taken. Open Saturday hours and weekday 8 to 4:30 availability noted.
