Clare County approves community center plan with MMCC
By a 6 to 1 vote the Clare County Board endorsed a cooperative community center with Gladwin County and Mid Michigan Community College. MMCC President Eugene Gillaspy outlined federal funding and on site facilities while opponents urged more study. Gillaspy aims for self support and broader community use beyond education. The board also approved paying $8000 for the Manatron tax billings system from Federal Revenue Sharing to ease township burdens.

Plans to Save Budd Lake Tells Association Details
Budd Lake Association members heard plans for a chemical treatment to control Eurasian milfoil weed growth. Dr. Michael Leary outlined Phase I and II studies from 1971 to 1972, funding efforts, and expected moratoriums on fishing and water use during treatment to curb nutrient runoff and sediment issues.

Co salutatorian Lisa Fabatz has a 3.90 GPA, plans one year at Central Michigan then transfer to Northern Kentucky for veterinary medicine.
