Local residents and guests from Lansing Flint Owosso Clare Saginaw Pontiac and Detroit visited cabins and cottages around Lake George over the weekend. The community hall recreation event drew about 125 attendees as several families joined relatives at Shingle Lake and Shorewood cottages.
Farwell area residents hosted and visited over the weekend with multiple trips to Marion Clare and Saginaw. Notables include Kenneth Benchley Leo Harris Curtiss Presley and families. June Goodrich wedding to Edgar Waldron. numerous calls from Winterfield Clare and Royal Oak residents. gatherings at the Beard Wiltse and Burns homes and a post wedding celebration at the Frank White farm ready for a long residence there.
Local 4 H club meetings at the town hall with Ruth Fritsche and Joan Breyfogle enrolling members. Several residents visit relatives, attend lectures, and travel to Detroit and Ann Arbor. Re registration for Isa bella township voters set for May 9 and 16. naturalized citizens urged to bring papers.
The Harrison Michigan Board of County Roads met April 18 1936 at the courthouse. They approved last minutes and a large list of bills for supplies and services. A major resolution took over several township road sections as county roads under Act No. 180 of 1931 with notices to be published in The Clare Sentinel.
In Clare County Michigan Probate Court the matter of the estate of Lucretia Dorcey Prover incompetent is heard. Rev Stanley J Morrison requests license to sell estate real estate and the hearing is set for May 18 1936 at 10 am. Public notice to issue for three weeks in the Clare Sentinel. Judge Thos S Dorsey presides.
Mr. and Mrs. W Hang of Licott visited friends here for a day. Mildred Fleming of lint joined Mr. and Mrs. O W Kube Saturday. Porter Field of Mason hosted men from Lansing and Mason at his cottage over the weekend. Adelbert Blain owns a Shetland pony given by his parents last Saturday. Mrs. Pearl Kuhe and her father attended Harrison Health Day for Children. The Barr Maxwell and Hazelton families from Mason spent the weekend at their cottage. W Denkhans, A Freund and Jack of Saginaw visited their cottage on Sunday. Kittie Ferguson of Detroit came to see her brother R Cowles last week. Several locals attended a ball game at Mann Siding last Sunday. Wm H Bohl returned to Mancelona Monday after wintering with his daughter C W Kube. Mrs. R Cowles birthday was celebrated with a surprise gathering and gifts including a Maytag washer. Arthur Kube and family of Flint visited Oscar Kube last Sunday. Several perch fishers were here before May first with good catches.
