The Clara and Surrey Township scene lists visiting relatives from Flint Midland Cornwellville Rose bush and Saginaw plus operetta attendance. Guests included Norman Lohn's Detroit relatives and the Brown and Gee households. A Ladies Union pot luck met in Clara and the Surrey Republican Caucus met March 9 with candidate names on page one.

Around Farwell Mr and Mrs Frank Melvin of Saginaw called on Farwell friends last Sunday. Fire from a stove used to heat the building destroyed the henhouse and the garage at the farm home of Mr and Mrs Ernie Overton two miles north and west of Farwell last week. Volunteers rushed to the scene as soon as the alarm rang. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Meth odist church will hold a Bake Sale at the Library on Saturday March 16. Out of town people attended John Palmers funeral last week including Mr and Mrs C E Richards Miss Wilma Richards and Mr and Mrs W A Larkin of Alma Mr and Mrs W E Day of Armada Mr and Mrs Earl Lucas of Middleton Mr and Mrs Don Wolven and son of Pontiac Mr and Mrs Dale Richards of Saginaw and Miss Ruth Stanley of Mt Pleasant. Mrs Richard Whitaker of Mt Pleasant attended the Woman’s Club meeting Tuesday evening. Blasting for the pipeline has caused much noise the past week.
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Methodist church meets with good attendance and lively interest in the Galloping Teas. They will study the Bible starting with the life of Paul, with Dorcas, Paul's journeys, and a pastor led discussion slated to follow.
