New Uniform For Michigan State Police Unveiled
Michigan State Police will soon wear dark blue wool and dacron shirts with a light blue gray tie, marking the first uniform change since 1947. The upgrade lowers long term costs and presents a stronger military look than the current light blue poplin shirt and navy tie. Prior to 1947 officers wore white shirts with a winter blouse and a navy wool shirt in summer, later swapped for the light blue poplin in 1947.
