The editor, unaware of his own birthday, was surprised at home when friends and relatives gathered after he arrived for supper. Former Clare Citizen John Kuffler Dies at Coleman
The body of John Kuffler, an early Clare resident born in Germany January 3, 1848, was moved from Coleman for burial with short graveside services led by Rev. H. B. Johnson. He came to Clare, Michigan in 1870 and died February 29, 1924, leaving two sisters Mrs Thomas Snell of Flint and Mrs Mary Crippen of Cooperville New York, four nieces and one nephew.
