Lansing Autoist Receives Reckless Driving Summons
Kenneth Barton of Lansing was summoned for reckless driving after a Sunday morning crash five miles north of Clare on US 27. He crossed into the opposite lane and struck a parked car on the shoulder occupied by Milo D. West of Midland. no injuries were reported. State Police plan intensified trunkline patrols this summer to curb such accidents.

Report says boys using air guns and 22 rifles have become a nuisance as livestock and birds suffer injuries. Esteemed Clare Citizen Dies After Long Illness
A. Bruce Gibbs of Clare died at his east Seventh Street home on Monday after a six year decline. A Michigan State Normal graduate and Ferris Institute alum, he served 20 years as bookkeeper for Clare County Savings Bank until 1932, then as city treasurer from 1936. He left two children, Byron and a daughter who died in infancy. Funeral Thursday at the Methodist church with interment at Cherry Grove.
