Kiwanis to Launch 75000 Dollar Spastic Paralysis Program

Illinois and eastern Iowa Kiwanis districts announce a five year research program with a goal of 75000 dollars. Funds will be raised at 15000 dollars annually by members of 171 clubs to support a Chicago area medical school physician devoted to spastic paralysis research. A foundation will be established once pledges meet the total amount. The program stems from a decade of district interest amid estimates of 300 to 500 new spastic cases yearly in the region.
