Farwell Alumni Banquet Draws Large Turnout in Gym
One hundred three alumni and friends gathered in the Farwell School gym on May 28 for the annual banquet. President Mable Brasington welcomed attendees and crowned Mrs. Iya Malosh as mistress of ceremonies who led a program of memories and songs. The event featured a briefing on Farwell’s history, honors to the Class of 1909, performances by Julie Giesler and Edith Giesler, and remarks by Richard Teachout who spoke from Africa about gospel mission work. An afterglow in the sixth grade room concluded the evening with dancing and visiting from many out of town guests.

Farwell Tigers Fall to Weidman in 4–0 Loss
Weidman’s Gross allowed only one earned run on 12 strikeouts and eight hits as Moore yielded one earned run over eight innings for Farwell. Weidman scored in the second and fifth on errors and added a seventh-inning tally, while Farwell managed six runs on one error and five hits. Dee Shaw’s Tigers then lost 9–3 to the same Weidman squad, hoping improved play will yield another matchup.
