Pasture for 1942 Could Start in July or August
Increased dairy and livestock demand boosts value of preparing a 1942 hay and pasture supply in Michigan. A mix of alfalfa and smooth brome grass on well drained lime-rich soils, with 300-400 pounds per acre of 0-20-20 fertilizer, is recommended. Seedings through August 15 can yield hay or pasture, and oats help seed establishment and erosion control.
